The Challenge

A retired schoolteacher from Phuket Town who had always left financial matters to her husband. She now manages her own accounts with confidence, tracks her monthly spending using a simple system she developed from the course worksheets, and has since enrolled in A Steady Light to go further. In her words: "I no longer feel like I am guessing."

The Challenge

A business owner in his late forties who had been focused on running his company for twenty years and had given little thought to what would happen at sixty. He understood money in a business context but felt lost when it came to personal retirement planning in Thailand.

The Approach

He completed The Far Beacon Programme over ten weeks, working through Thai pension structures, healthcare cost estimates, and how to think about his personal assets separately from the business. The personal planning folder became the basis for a conversation with a licensed financial advisor he later sought out.

The Outcome

He left the programme with a clear picture of his current position and a set of questions to work through with a professional. "I went into that advisor meeting knowing what to ask," he said. "Before the course I would not have known where to start."

The Situation
